Sonia Moore & The Bemba Family Soul are back in full force for the third installment of Bemba Entertainment’s Soul Legends Series. On April 29th, Bemba pays homage to Chaka Khan and Teddy Pendergrass. One might think there is a deep, philosophical reason for combining a tribute to these two soul legends.

In actuality, Bemba Entertainment’s Founder/Owner Brandon Badillo and Bemba Family Soul’s front woman Sonia Moore had differences of opinion. Brandon wanted to have an accolade to Teddy Pendergrass, while Sonia wanted one to Chaka Khan. Brandon, being a true visionary, decided to do both on the same night. As it turns out, there is in fact a deep, philosophical reason for celebrating Khan and Pendergrass on the same bill. “I listen to music and get a vision of how I’d like to see it, hear it, and feel it,” says Badillo. He adds, “I am recreating history so I can experience it for the first time…and I invite people to share this experience with me. I want to create something that entices integration.” Badillo inspires integration on many levels.
